What to do in winter in Haapsalu?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Haapsalu is known for its summer events and promenade, but a wide range of enjoyable activities await here in winter as well. Let’s take a closer look at what to do in Haapsalu in winter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Snowy views<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The best part of winter is the beautiful snowy views of the sea and lakes. Here, too, a crisp walk along the Haapsalu seaside promenade by the back bay, which ends by the small Viigi, for example, in the Wiigi cafe, has its place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Cozy cafes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the winter season, we recommend to be a little more careful with the opening hours of cafes and, if possible, to do a little preliminary research, and by chance no one will be taking a short winter vacation during your vacation. As a rule, Haapsalu’s real hardware Wiig cafe and Hapsal Dietrich are pleasantly open and waiting for a refreshing lunch or a romantic dinner. In the summer of 2023, for example, a pleasant restaurant Meraki offering Greek flavors was opened, whose program also includes exhilarating special events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. SPA pleasures in Hestia<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A hot sauna and a hot whirlpool bath are perfect for a cold winter. Together with the views of V\u00e4ike Viigi, Hestia SPA is designed for this purpose. At Tiny Marienholm, we also offer a separate SPA package<\/strong><\/a>, where you can spend the night in a particularly beautiful environment in a mini villa on the Marienholm peninsula. However, at a time of your choice, you can head to the nearby Hestia to enjoy the SPA charms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Ilona’s Wonderland and Coastal Sweden Museum<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A selection of museums are also open during the winter. For example, when you come to Haapsallu with children, you can’t get over or around the beautiful Iloni Wonderland. In winter, it is open Mon-Fri 11:00-17:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, for those interested in the history of the region, we recommend the compact Rannaroots Museum (open in winter Tue-Sat 10:00-16:00) or the Haapsalu Town Hall with a very interesting permanent exhibition (open in winter Fri-Fri 11:00-17:00).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Skating tour in Haapsalu Bay<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The adventure organizer 360 degrees offers ice skating tours in Haapsalu Bay. With good ice conditions, you can cover long distances with hiking skates and enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature. Depending on the ice conditions, you can choose a route that suits you – either skating towards Noaroots or, for example, around Hobulaiu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. With a sled to V\u00e4ike Viik<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

V\u00e4ike Viigi has a 1.4 kilometer long circuit, where it is nice to go around with a sled. If desired, it is worth contacting the sled renter at arno@liigubjaloob.ee<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
